i'm back! :D
i shall herby give a detailed recount on my past..
6+2=8days
japan trip and annual camp.
bit by bit though,
since i am currently on a 2-hours-a-day-on-com-only-basis.
......
19th November, Wednesday
went for guides in the morning,
can't really rmb what we did but i know we were preparing for our campfire item.
sapphire patrol's item was movie trailer on enchanted plus a song.
i am sharpey's (yingyan) assisstant in the level item about HSM! (:
left abit earlier during lvel item preparation,
and it was pouring really heavy a while after i exited school gates. great.
went home shivering well at least i had umbrella,
2 other ppl were stranded at the busttop haha.
bathed then did some last minute packing then dad drove to changi airport.
we drove to wrong terminal, drove to T3 but supposed to go T2.
went into airport about to check in then found out i forgot to bring my brown knitwear and the luggage strap. too bad.
anyway so checked in and unfortunetely no chance for upgrade, the flight was way full.
afew hours flight then stopped at bangkok for transition.
they made us paste an striking yellow singapore airlines sticker ha!
continued flight, had breakfast which i didnt really eat cuz i dont like the airplane food smell it makes me feel like puking.
but i ate the bread with butter and sugar(meant for the tea) haha!
i love butter&sugar bread okay.
reached NRT airport early morning the next day.
20th November, Thursday
Exit from the airport it was really freezing!
Weather forecast for Tokyo was 4-10oC.
Took “friendly airport limousine” to Hilton hotel in Shinjuku.
The bus even has a lavatory. No doubt friendly airport limousine.
The bus journey lasted 2hours, so obviously everyone caught up with their sleep.
Checked in into Hilton hotel, then we cheated, we checked in as 3 ppl so we can just use a single room and ask for extra bed.
there is my mum,dad,sis and me= 4ppl :x
Hilton happens to be the crew’s accommodation too, so we saw some of the crew on the shuttle bus
and when they found out we were Singaporean, I heard one of the steward say:
“Thank you for choosing Singapore Airlines, a member of the star alliance.”
Humor, har.
We headed to odaiba via subway. The ticket buying is quite confusing- most words are written in Japanese which we cant comprehend.
At the station, we ate at one of those stand-up stalls where we first had to buy a food ticket from the machine then proceed to get it from the counter and stand up eating. Their one serving has a bowl of soba/udon and a bowl of rice. So we only ordered 2 sets haha! About 580yen each.
At Odaiba we went to the Toyota exhibition which I wasn’t quite keen on at first, but later it was quite interesting,
I tried the “sports car” stimulator.
Obviously I crashed and ran out of time.
Now I can imagine how those sports car drivers (esp those who crashed) felt ha!
Hey, that was my first time okay! I didn’t even know left or right pedal was stop or go. But it was really quite fun. At least I didn’t regret not trying (which my sister did I presume)
Later went to a theatre which had stimualator chairs which moved along with the cars movements in the sports car race.
Before we entered they checked with us if we had high blood pressure, was pregnant or not or had blablabla symtoms.
After that went to a mall which allowed dogs inside.
No, I think it was a mall meant for dogs, since there was a special department store for dogs, restaurants for dogs to eat with their owners and a pet’s store. The animals were so cute!
Upstairs, I bought a puma shoe for at a discounted price :D
My dad’s shoe sole detached itself, so he had to buy one too haha!
Had dinner at mcdonalds since the restaurants there were way too pricey or allowed dogs- my mum absolutely do not adore them one bit.
Erm the food there was a tad weird so we never ate at macdonalds there again.
They had some really bitter tea, and a burger with potato like fillings.
By the way, there were loads of working men going around the station when we just got there since it was their lunch time. They all wore suits.
p.s. I think men in suits are hot :x
Singapore men/guys/women/girls are really really underdressed compared to the Japanese.
21st November, Friday
Woke up at 0530, met my mum’s friends Paggie & her sister, Ley Teng and Irene.
We headed for Hakone tgt, which was a 2hour journey out of Tokyo.
Obviously we slept again, considering we slept a little late last night.
We took a bus up a mountain, where there was a stall selling Japanese goodies at a slighty cheaper price.
I love red bean buns and green tea now! <3
I used to hate any green tea flavoured food but not anymore :D
We had our lunch there, soba and udon again. (my dad n sis like soba, I like udon, and my mum normally helps me finish my udon haha)
there really isn’t much meat in their dishes, mainly the fried potato-like thing floating on top of the soup, and a little bit of pork, or sometimes prawn.
After our quick lunch, we boarded a cruise which was quite cool.
Jiayi and me took some pictures on the upper deck.
There was one really unglam photo of me cuz it was seriously freezing up there and she took really long to take the picture and I was screaming whilst freezing, with my hair flying in all directions.
Later we took the cable car to another mountain where we had quite a good view of Mt Fuji. The top of Mt Fuji was totally white in ice.
We climbed up a smaller “hot-spring” mountain cuz there was sulfur coming out of a few lakes there.
Climbing up there was a torture, the wind was freakingly stroooooooong. if my footing wasn’t steady enough I could have flied off okay! Haha.
We bought some “hot-spring-boiled eggs” which were entirely black and delicious, but really not worth for money- 500yen, for a bag of 5 eggs.
Later we strolled in a park where there were red/orange/yellow/green maple leaves!
Really pretty. Jiayi and I couldn’t help but collect some to bring home. Though I have no idea where it is now :x
Had dinner near the subway station. The restaurant was underground and cozy.
The food was really nice too! Cheap and good :D
We ordered saba fish with cold soba, chicken fillet with rice and oyster rice.
Japanese are really polite, they greet whenever we enter or exit the store, and help readily. Of course they smile a lot too, there was only a few times I saw a frowning Japanese.
Whilst waiting for the shuttle bus, we talked to another Singaporean family.
Turns out the elder daughter worked in the same company as my mum and friends.
It’s a small world. They had 2 daughters too, younger daughter JC1- really chio, fishnets and all.
Yeah they were obviously rich with their branded bags and handful of shopping bags. It was their last night in Tokyo so they bought a lot.
They recommended the Donkey hole, but we went 2days later- the place was horrible to me.nvm.
Slept at about 11pm. (lack of sleep still)
